In Lanaken, the second qualifier for the six-year-old horses was also on the programme, in preparation for Sunday’s World Championship. The Belgian combinations were well represented at the top of the standings. Thierry Goffinet took the win with Quelle Valse CT Z, while Stef Bossaerts also secured a place in the top five with Dax van de Litzemaere Z.
Thierry Goffinet and the six-year-old Zangersheide mare Quelle Valse CT Z (Quelle Home de Hus) jumped clear and stopped the clock at 64.14 seconds, securing first place. The Belgian combination finished ahead of Niamh McEvoy with Doris V Z (Dourkhan Hero Z) and William Rekert with Corinio. McEvoy (Columbus Z) finished in 64.93 seconds, while Rekert needed 65.85 seconds.
Fourth place went to Gyula Szuhai Jr. with Doha Z (Diarado) in 65.91 seconds. Stef Bossaerts completed the Belgian presence in the top five with Dax van de Litzemaere Z (Diamant de Semilly). They also jumped clear, finishing in 65.98 seconds to secure fifth place. As a result, the entire top five consisted of Zangersheide horses.
