Artisan Farms has decided to retire Figor from the sport after an injury
Foster and Figor jumped to team silver at Pan American Games
On her social media, Canadian rider Tiffany Foster announced the retirement of the 15-year-old Figor (VDL Groep Zagreb x VDL Indoctro). “Thank you, Figgy,” wrote the rider. “It was an honor to be your rider!”
Foster and the gelding won team silver at the 2023 Pan American Games in Chile. The pair had been competing internationally since 2017 and represented Canada at several championships, including the World Championship in Herning in 2022 as well as the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024.
“After he was injured during our last competition, the owner, Artisan Farms, decided to grant Figgy his retirement from the sport. Figgy shaped my career. He was my partner for my first World Cup victory and we claimed second place in the 2023 Spruce Meadows Rolex Grand Prix!”
“I can only look back on my time with Figgy with gratitude. I am thankful to the entire team! From the vet to the groom to the farrier! Not being able to greet him every day will be difficult. I hope he enjoys his time in the fields!”
