Olympic Champion Christian Kukuk has strengthened his string of horses with two exciting prospects. The German rider has secured the 10-year-old HK Carrera (by Carrera VDL) and the 8-year-old ESI Romeo (by Eldorado van de Zeshoek) from the stables of Torben Köhlbrandt and Kellie Allen. Kukuk wasted no time getting to know his new partners, debuting them directly at the prestigious CHIO Aachen.
"HK Carrera and ESI Romeo performed outstandingly under their new rider, delivering several clear rounds," a delighted Torben Köhlbrandt shared with spring-reiter.de.
Both youngsters trace back to the same successful breeding program in Ireland, bred by Andrew Hughes of Ennisnag Stud. HK Carrera (Carrera VDL): The 10-year-old gelding arrived at Torben Köhlbrandt’s stable in 2023. Together, Köhlbrandt and HK Carrera caught the equestrian world's attention with strong performances at 4* and 5* level, competing up to 1.55m in locations such as Doha and Gorla Minore.
ESI Romeo (Eldorado van de Zeshoek): The talented 8-year-old has been carefully produced over the last three years by Kellie Allen. Under her guidance, the young gelding successfully climbed the ranks up to international 1.45m level.
