Today, the CSIO5* competition commenced in Saint Tropez - Gassin. The opening class was held over a height of 1.45m and over two phases. The top three were separated by only one and a half seconds.
The victory ultimately went to Luxembourg thanks to Victor Bettendorf riding Encore Toi du Linon (Kannan). The pair crossed the finish line in 25.34 seconds.
The rest of the podium was filled by French riders. Dexter Fontenis Z (Diarado) claimed silver together with Simon Delestre in 26.49 seconds. Marie Demonte rode Give me One Reaso DK (Cera d'Ick) to bronze.
Ovidius van de Donkhoeve (VDL Zirocco Blue) finished just off the podium under the saddle of Ireland's David Simpson. Luka Zaloznik (MKD) rounded off the top 5 on the back of Stakkatol Blue Psz (Stakkatol).
