The international arena in Sharjah once again delivered high-class sport with the second qualifier for the Sharjah Grand Prix presented by Longines. The CSI3* 1.50m competition, held in two phases, attracted a strong and diverse field from across the globe. With valuable Longines Ranking points at stake, riders were required to combine precision with speed to secure a top result in this demanding class.
The victory in this competitive CSI3* 1m50 class went to Germany. Christian Ahlmann guided the talented nine-year-old stallion Applebridge Tag Z (Aganix du Seigneur) to an impressive double clear performance. In the second phase the pair stopped the clock in a fast 32.66 seconds, a time that proved unbeatable and secured them the top spot on the podium.
Fellow German rider Sophie Hinners followed closely behind to take second place. Riding Come Away Flamingo Z (Cardento), she produced another flawless round and finished in 33.12 seconds, just half a second slower than the winning combination. The result confirmed the excellent form of the German team in this qualifier.
Third position was claimed by Latvia’s Kristaps Neretnieks. In the saddle of Sir Schmidt (Stolzenberg) he delivered a sharp and accurate performance, crossing the finish line in 33.37 seconds. His smooth and consistent round earned him a well-deserved place on the podium in this high-quality field.
The fourth place went to Syrian rider Shady Ghrayeb with Leelandi. The experienced combination remained faultless and completed the decisive phase in 34.22 seconds, keeping them firmly among the leading contenders.Rounding out the top five was Great Britain’s Laura Renwick. On the back of Marseille (Toulon) she also jumped clear and recorded a time of 34.62 seconds.
