The first Grand Prix qualification will be held in Aachen shortly, where riders will need to score strongly right away to qualify for Sunday. Prior to this, the spotlight was on the Youngster Tour.
In the saddle of United Call JPS (United Touch S, breeder: Julius-Peter Sinnack), Richard Vogel jumped to victory. The Holsteiner thus makes a successful international debut with Vogel in the irons. Last year, Vogel won the European title with United Call JPS's sire, United Touch S.
The duo finished a few tenths of a second ahead of Abdel Said and his own BWP mare, Sytha P (Nixon van 't Meulenhof). The podium was completed by Giulia Martinengo Marquet and Call Me d'I (Cicer Z van Paemel).
Epaillard and EAsy Up de Grandry take winning CSI5* start
Earlier today France's Julien Epaillard jumped to victory in the 1.45m CSI5* opening class. Aboard Easy Up de Grandry (Jarnac) Epaillard referred, Daniel Coyle to the runner-up position. Aboard Gisborne VDL (VDL Zirocco Blue), Coyle, placed second, leaving Daniel Bluman and Malina (Aganix du Seigneur) in third place.
