This afternoon, the 1.45m Longines Ranking class in Rabat delivered top-level sport. At the very last moment, Jérôme Guery had to concede defeat to Denmark’s Zascha Nygaard. "I'm having a really good time here..."
Nygaard sped to victory with the eight-year-old Stathagnio PS (by Stakkatol). "I came here with just one horse, a bit to back-up my GCL team," Nygaard said. "Everytime we put Stathagnio in an important class he confirms. We're taking it a bit slowly with hime and just work towards the future!"
Just six hundredths of a second behind, Jérôme Guery followed with his own Gigolo’ di Villagana (by Ballantine di Villagana).
Guery narrowly missed out on the win. On the podium, the Belgian stayed ahead of Luiz Felipe Neto de Azevedo with the nine-year-old BWP gelding Quibus van OLV Hove (by Imagine van de Hermitage). Just outside the top three was Michael Pender riding the eight-year-old Madgeslane Louis (by Luidam). The top five was completed by Guido Grimaldi and Candy Rose (by Sligo Candy Boy).
