The new vice European champion Dorothee Schneider has been hospitalized after a fall from her horse. The ten-year-old stallion Quantum Vis (Quaterback), who is normally of a calm nature, spooked unexpectedly while Schneider was getting on.
The horse took off after he spooked, which resulted in a nasty fall for Schneider. She was immediately transported to the hospital where she had to stay for the night for observation. Fortunately, no serious injuries were found. However, the German dressage rider will have to take it easy for a few days.
It's not the first time that Dorothee Schneider ends up in the hospital after an accident with a horse. In 2013, she was hospitalized with a head injury after a headbutt from one of her horses. She left the hospital with a few stitches.
Three weeks ago, Schneider finished second at the EC for dressage. This weekend she competed with Quantum Vis (her future Grand Prix-horse) in Ising am Chiemsee.
