EU prohibition of sale of luxury goods including horses to Russia

Horse Sport Ireland wish to highlight to the equestrian industry that in the Official Journal of the European Union dated 15 March, 2022, a list has been published of luxury items, including horses, which are now prohibited from sale to any legal or natural persons in Russia.

(1. It shall be prohibited to sell, supply, transfer or export, directly or indirectly, luxury goods as listed in Annex XVIII, to any natural or legal person, entity or body in Russia or for use in Russia). Horses (“pure bred breeding animals” + “other”) are included in that category.
