The promising Emeraldo, an eight-year-old Oldenburg, chestnut-colored son of Emerald van het Ruytershof, was sold to top American rider Laura Kraut.
Emeraldo was previously ridden by Germany's Pia-Luise Baur, with whom he developed at lightning speed into a jumper of stature. Under the guidance of her trainer, Patrick Kühn, Baur introduced the then five-year-old Emeraldo to the jumping sport. Since then, they climbed to the highest level together and achieved multiple successes in national and international competitions including performances in Donaueschingen and Valkenswaard. In October 2023 he won the Youngster-Tour in Bisingen-Hohenzollern as a seven-year-old.
The absolute highlight of their collaboration came last summer, when Baur and Emeraldo captured the title at the Landesmeisterschaft. This achievement brought the duo into the spotlight, after which Emeraldo increasingly came to the attention of buyers from abroad.
Emeraldo's sale was arranged by Sportpferde Faller and the Reitanlage am Herrschaftsfeld in Durmersheim, who jointly owned the horse. His new rider, Laura Kraut, competed in the Olympics and several world championships, among others, and her expertise makes her an exciting challenge for Emeraldo.
