A fourth-year-student at the Van Hall Larenstein, University has started a survey to research the role of the groom in a sustainable industry. The groom and its role in the industry has recently received more awareness. This research wants to give specific answers on the question how to give the groom a sustainable role in our industry.
"Grooms are the backbone of the equine industry as they do so much for horses and riders. However, an increasing number of grooms are deciding to leave their jobs and in some cases the industry altogether. In 2022 various campaigns and initiatives were launched to increase the image of the grooming profession, encourage public recognition of grooms and better conditions for grooms at shows. But are these campaigns achieving what they set out to do? "
"We would like to find out how you, as a professional groom, have experienced these campaigns and initiatives and whether they altered your perception of your profession."
