Last weekend was a horrific weekend for Swiss showjumping rider, Romain Duguet. The Swiss rider took the start in the CSI3* Grand Prix of Mâcon, France with his 10-year-old Cirby (Canturano I). As the pair jumped the open water, the mare slipped.
The mare ran off in panic destroying amongst other things, the safety fence of the competition arena. In her galop she got injured on multiple places.
A team of veterinarians tried to save the mare, but no help could keep her alive. Cirby joined Duguet's stables in 2018. Our condolences to Romain Duguet and his team.
