The top show jumping sire, Richebourg (Bayard d'Elle) has jumped together an impressive career and also pressed his stamp in breeding. Today the owners announced the stallion passed away at 27-years-old.
The chestnut stallion was euthanized after aging problems. In his career he impressed with Belgium's Jean-Claude Van Geenberghe. The pair jumped up to the highest level.
As a youngster, Richebourg jumped to some national titles in Belgium and France. Only 8-years-old the stallion won the Belgium Championships and one year later was named horse of the year and placed third in the Worldcup competition of Vigo (ESP).
In breeding, Richebourg has an impressive offspring from which Obourg, Nikyta d'Elle, Oscar du Chanu , Emir van het Moleneind, etc. jumped 1.60m level classes.
