The Swedish showjumping rider Linn Z has been convicted for animal abuse and fined 3.200 euro. The German website Weser-Kurier.de reports that last year Linn Z abused her horse Graf Magna with whip and spurs after the 13-year-old mare refused during the international competition in Verden. Whether Lynn Z will appeal is not yet clear.
Because of the irregular approach towards the horse the German judge J. Barré decided to sentence Linn Z to this have punishment. Awkward because the prosecutor only asked for 1.600 euro instead Barré decided to make this case examplary and double this amount. Acoording to Barré, Linn Z is an example as an international rider. Whether Linn Z will appeal is not yet clear.
