Knokke Hippique week two of to a great start with exiting Youngster classes

The second week of excellent sports at a high standard weer of to an existing start with the five, six and seven year old classes for showjumping horses yesterday.  With three top classes lined up it was Luiz Felipe de Azevedo Fihlo taking the first victory this week with his six year old KWPN bred Fape Chetak Massangana. The Brazilian rider beat French combination Julia Dallamano and Astone de Pleville (v. Argentinus (de) Han) by clearing the second phase of the course in 36.83  seconds.  Fellow countryman Yuri Borges  rode Erasmus Van Ter Hilst to the third place  by finishing just after  Dallamano in the 1.30 course over two phases. In the class for zeven year old horses is was young Dutch talent Jesper Romp who left the rest of the field behind. In again a course over two phases Romp and his KWPN horse Evita speeded to the top spot in 35.78 seconds. Runner up Guillaume Foutrier crossed the finish line in 36.49 seconds with his Selle Francais Vitalia d'Ash. Whilst home rider Astrid Rooms took the third spot for Belgium with the BWP bred horse Jeunesse Van T Paradijs. During the five year olds it was Portuguese Constança Van Doremalen-Almeida Fernandes who came out on top when he and his Glasgow-W vh Merelsnest gelding Gigant Z stopped the clock one second sooner as runner up Emma Stoker and Shariva (v. Stolzenberg), who crossed the finish line in 45.53 seconds. Belgian 21 year old Cassandra Braeckmans and her Zangersheide mare Cantate Z took the third spot with a difference of just 0.2 seconds.
