Ludger Beerbaum's Chiara 222 passed away

On his website, Ludger Beerbaum has announced his Grand Prix-mare, Chiara 222 has passed away after a colic attack. A few weeks ago the grey-mare suffered from a colic. After several medical treatments there was no sign of improvement. Beerbaum and his team eventually had to decide to euthanize the daughter of Contender. The 16-year-old mare competed her last international competition in Doha earlier this year, winning the 1.60m CSI5* class. As a combination Beerbaum and Chiara jumped together over  10 international victories.  Also placing second in the Worldcup finals in Lyon in 2014 and taking a fourth  team place in Caen that same year.
