SFN auction turns into fiasco

The SFN auction closed today, without reaching the expectations. With a total turn-over of 1,925,000 Euro the auction closed far from the expected 3,000,000 Euro. Eye-catcher of this auction, Jeroen Dubbeldam's SFN Zenith N.O.P. didn't receive any offer 3 hours before the deadline. Eventually Zenith closed in on 850,000 Euro. Together with Dutch show jumper, Zenith jumped to the gold medal at the 2014 FEI World Equestrian Games and 2015 European Championships. Earlier Dubbeldam already stated the online auction of this 12-year-old Rash R-son didn't feel right.

“Five year ago we planned and created the SFN. I was and still am aware Zenith had to be sold eventually. But after all the nice memories and experiences, it doesn't feel right to sell this horse through an online auction... ”
Wout-Jan van der Schans' top horse, Aquila SFN (by Ovidius) was auctioned for a total of 750,000 euro. The gelding received a total of 5 biddings. Only one horse didn't receive any bid. The 9-year-old Chuck Blue SFN (by Mr. Blue). This horse was before also ridden by Jeroen Dubbeldam.
