Woodlands auction goof for over 700.000 euro's

Familie De PelsmaekerLast Saturday, 28-09-2013, the peaceful town of Koningshooikt in Belgium was the scene for the much anticipated Woodland's International Sales. Just after 20.30h the auction hammer struck for the first time, selling the embryo of the great Lamm de Fetan's full brother or sister at 21.000€ to the Netherlands. The family De Pelsmaeker confirmed their trust in Woodland's after their success with last years highlight Haziana acquiring 2 horses, Jupiter and Calypso whose dam is ridden by McLain Ward. Mexico's Frederico Fernandez had the last bid on the 4-year-old Java. The impressive stallion by Castelino van de Helle was sold at 100.000€. But the record price of the evening was reached during the sale of Caipiranja, whose mother, grandmother and great grandmothers were all Grand Prix winners. Stephex Stables and Marc Van Dijck bought this talent at 104.000€. Furthermore horse were sold to Dubai, Chile, USA. Quotes from the organisation: "Hitting the 100.000€ marker is something magic for us. We knew the horses had the quality and we had the right buyers on site, but it to happening twice on the same night is special for us." Said Nick Vrins "Tonight was big success. Not only did we sell well, but also our horses got sold to some interesting stables. There, they will get every chance to develop their skills and become the great sporthorses that we believe the will be. No doubt that they will turn out to be Woodland's ambassadors in a few year's time" said Niels Bruynseels. The turnover was 724.500€ at an average of 45.281€ per horse. press release
