World Cup winner to be retired

Belgian showjumper Dirk Demeersman tweeted that his 18-year-old top horse, Tymoon Caloo Meerchen (Skippy II x Major de la Cour) will be retiring. Yesterday Tymoon returned to his owner, Jozef de Voghel.  The last competition of the horse-rider combination was last years CSI4* in Antwerp, Belgium. However in 2006 the pair was food for a world cup victory at the CSI5*-w in Mechelen. Further Tymoon was victorious at various international competitions such as Wieze, Lummen, Lanaken (Zangersheide), Oldenburg and Birmingham. In his reaction Dirk stated; "Tymoon,  You secured the one of the most beautiful moments of my life, the world cup victory in Mechelen. You always helped me and were (are) a fighter in the arena. At the age of 18-years-old it is time to enjoy your free time in some nice green fields. THANK YOU Tymoon and enjoy the rest."
