Amazing victory for Steve Guerdat in 1.70m Grand Prix Spruce Meadows

After an exciting and amazing difficult 1.70m Grand Prix in Spruce Meadows it was Swiss showjumping rider, Steve Guerdat jumping to glory aboard Venard de Cerisy (Open Up Semilly). Only this pair managed to produce a double clear round in the Rolex Grand Slam. Following Max Kühner as new Rolex Grand Slam Live Contender.

Guerdat and the 12-year-old SF-gelding referred USA's Kent Farrington with Gazelle (ex. Gazelle ter elzen) to the runner-up position. Farrington and his 15-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare, bred by  Werner Heuninckx, jumped one rail down in the first round and made a clear finish in round two.

Also compatriot McLain Ward finished with a total score of four points with Kasper van Het Hellehof (Emerald).

The combination was followed by Rowan Willis aboard Blue Movie. On hometurf, Mario Deslauriers completed the top five with his trusted  Bardolina 2 (Clarimo).
