Austria wins EEF Nations Cup finals Warsaw

A very strong Austrian team, buoyed by their recent bronze medal success at the European Championships, led the way from start to finish to claim the title. The team of Alessandra Reich, Gerfried Puck, Katharina Rhomberg and Max Kühner finished on 0, with the latter three riders producing double clears. The Nations Cup final also counted as Olympic Qualifier!

Three combinations recorded a double clear round for the Austrian team. Gerfried Puck guided the 10-year-old BWP (Belgian Warmblood) horse, Equitron Naxcel V (Balou du Rouet), faultlessly through the finish. Katharina Rhomberg and Cuma 5 (Comme Il Faut), as well as Max Kühner with his 12-year-old Elektric Blue P (Eldorado vd Zeshoek), also had faultless rounds.

With a total of zero faults, Austria remained ahead of the Belgian team. Wilm Vermeir proved to be the strong performer for Belgium. Vermeir had previously won the CSIO4* Grand Prix with his 14-year-old Joyride S (Toulon). In the Nations Cup, the duo recorded a double clear round. Gilles Thomas had only one jumping fault in the last round with Luna van het Dennehof (Prince van de Wolfsakker). Rik Hemeryck had one pole down in each round with Navarro van het Eelshof (Jappelloup vh Dauwhof). Virginie Thonon also competed with Just The Way (Zirocco Blue vDL).

Ukraine followed on the podium with 21 points.
