Henrik von Eckermann and Iliana shine bright in Dinard

Top-notch sportsmanship was the result of the 1.55m CSI5* main competition in Dinard. As one of the last to compete, Henrik von Eckermann, riding Iliana (Cardento), ultimately clinched the victory.

Gregory Wathelet and his majestic stallion, Nevados S (Calvados), recorded a lightning-fast time of 36.97 seconds. Together with the grey stallion, the Belgian rider seemed on go for victory. However, that was without taking into account Henrik von Eckermann and his KWPN mare, Iliana (Cardento).

Von Eckermann finished just 0.1 seconds faster, relegating the Belgian rider to second place. The third spot on the podium also went to a Belgian rider, Jérôme Guery, riding Floris TN (Quality Time TN).

In front of their home crowd, Julien Epaillard followed with Dubai du Cedre (Baloubet du Rouet), ahead of Jens Fredricson and his 10-year-old mare, Diarado's Rose Elith (Diarado). The last to start, Daniel Deusser and Killer Queen VDM (Eldorado vd Zeshoek), completed a flawless round and finished in sixth place.
