Henrik von Eckermann and King Edward win 1.60m FEI Worldcupfinales opener!

In Riyadh the FEI Worldcup finals kicked-off with the 1.60m Table C. In this first leg of the championship it was Sweden's Henrik von Eckermann who jumped to victory aboard his Belgian-bredKing Edward (breeder: Wim Impens).

Von Eckermann and his 14-year-old BWP gelding (by Edward 28) were the only ones to go clear in under 66 seconds. The Swede and his chestnut remained ahead of fellow countryman Peder Fredricson with the 18-year-old Catch Me Not S (bred by Krister Svedberg). Hans-Dieter Dreher and the 12-year-old son of VDL Zirocco Blue, Elysium, started the championship in third place.

The second fastest time belonged to Julien Epaillard and the 11-year-old SF mare, Dubai du Cedre. However, the Frenchman and the daughter of Baloubet du Rouet made a mistake, earning them the fourth place. Kent Farrington and Toulayna (Toulon) share the fourth spot after a clear round in exactly 69.69 seconds.
