The Dutch top rider Jür Vrieling is home grounded, just like the rest of us. He however still sees a positive thing in this crisis: "It reunites people. You see people getting in contact with each other again, calling for no reason... But that's the only positive thing about this whole situation".
Besides that, Vrieling says we equestrians are still with 'the lucky ones': "I think we somehow are lucky. We can ride outside, we can work with our horses. Not everyone is that lucky. Of course I regret all competitions being cancelled but that's how the situation is right now and we will have to deal with it for a while now, all together".
Vrieling and his horses just arrived in Den Bosch when was decided that this show was going to get cancelled after all: "If course you kinda knew. At first only a limited number of public was allowed, after that no public at all... We however left for Den Bosch because we thought everything would be okay in the end. Glasgow was ready for the Grand Prix, I was ready, so of course we were disappointed when we heard the show got cancelled. Besides that the prize money is a big part of our income, income we don't have right now. I would be lying if I said this wasn't affecting us".
