The German top rider Ludger Beerbaum hardly needs an introduction. Over the years, he jumped from one victory to another. However two victories are extra special for the German rider, ...
"I had a lot of great moments in my career but two moments are more special than the others. In 1993 I was the first German rider ever to win the final of the World Cup. It was in the Scandinavium arena in Gotenburg and I still remember that moment like it was yesterday. There was a great atmosphere, the crowd was really supporting me, ... It was a great moment. Besides that, winning the Grand Prix of Aachen with Ratina, will always be one of the best moments of my career. The courses in Aachen are always very difficult and the five riders placed for the jump-off, were also the best five riders of the world at that tome. I was the last rider to enter the ring and I knew I had to take all riks in order to win. In the end, all the risks I took, worked out and I'll never forget the moment I crossed the finish line, realizing I won. This probably is one of the best moments of my life".
