Nick Skelton: "Big Star knew when he was jumping an important competition"

In a interview with the FEI, the current Olympic Champion Nick Skelton has talked about his top horse Big Star (f. Quick Star). This combination won the Olympics in 2016.

"Big Star is a very smart horse. He just knew when a competition was important. I knew I had to be careful in Rio since he had been suffering from several injuries in the two years before the Games. I don't think we will compete at the Olympics next year. I'm not getting any younger and neither does Big Star so we will probably not compete at the Olympics for the third time together", he states.
