The German chef d'équipe Otto Becker has talked about the consequences the Coronacrisis will have on our sport in an interview with a German paper. "It's only logical that at first, the level will not be as high as before the crisis".
"I'm very happy that the top riders kept working their best horses during this crisis. This was very important given the fact that the horses need to be excersized to keep their good shape", Bekker says. "The only problem is that the horses are not competing right now. Of course competitions are being organized again in Germany, but this is nothing compared to the CSI5* competitions. Only time will tell what the exact effects of the forced pause will be but it's only logical that at first the level of the combinations will not be as high as before Corona".
