He managed to hold on to his leading position. With DSP Chakaria (by Chap 47) he had one jumping fault, but that was enough to leave his first pursuer Martin Fuchs behind. Thieme ends his European Championship with a total of 6.84 penalty points. Martin Fuchs, who started as European champion, now finished in second place. He rode Leone Jei (by Baltic VDL) to a total of 9.31 penalty points. He also could not keep the zero in the last round. That the last round was no sinecure is shown by the fact that also the bronze medal winner, Peder Fredricson could not jump a clear round. With Catch Me Not S (by Cardento 933) he had one jumping fault and one point for time behind his name, resulting in a total of 9.46 penalty points. 

Christian Kukuk (Mumbai) and Nicola Philippaerts (Katanga vh Dingeshof) completed the top five. Nicola Philippaerts with Katanga (by Cardento 933) was one of the only ones who could keep the zero in the second round, so he climbed nicely in the rankings.
