Lars Kersten says goodbye to home bred Hallilea

The 12-year-old Hallilea, a daughter of Zirocco Blue VDL bred and trained at Lars Kersten's own stables, will have a new rider in the saddle, American Caroline Mawhinney.

Their first international appearance together dates back to early 2020, where Kersten took the then five-year-old mare to the ring. Together, the duo climbed to the highest level of the sport, with their first five-star participation in June 2022, where they competed during the Nations Cup in Rotterdam. The 1.45m high course was finished clear and earned them fourth place. A little earlier they wrote the CSI2* 1.45m Grand Prix of Grote Brogel to their name. Their first victory at the highest level followed in December that same year, where they won the 150 class in the World Cup competition at Jumping Mechelen. After that, they found the podium five more times, including three times on the highest scaffold, with the most recent victory the World Cup competition in Gothenburg.
