Sunday's CSI5* 1.60m Grand Prix of Rotterdam 2024 was won by Marc Houtzager, who steered to success aboard Sterrehof's Dante in front of a home crowd.
In a fifteen-strong jump-off, Janika Sprunger was second to go and secured the first clear aboard of the ten years old Orelie (Emerald). Seven clears followed after and the victory went to Marc Houtzager (NED), who, riding the 16-year-old KWPN mare Sterrehof's Dante (Canturano), crossed the finish line in 36.07s in front of his home crowd.
Christian Kukuk (GER), riding Just Be Gentle, was close on his heels but had to settle for second place with a time of 36.55s. The bronze also stayed on home soil and went to Harrie Smolders (NED) with the 12-year-old stallion Uricas v/d Kattevennen, sired by Uriko, who finished in 37,42s.
Laura Kraut (USA) secured herself fourth place with Baloutinue (Balou du Rouet) setting their time on 38,10s. Belgium's Gilles Thomas and the ten years old stallion, Ermitage Kalone, who had their (flawless) debut in the Nations Cup earlier that week, jumped to fifth clocking their round on 38,24s.
