Gerard O'Neill and Bp Goodfellas are new World Champions of the five year olds

In a thrilling jump-off, the riders and their horses gave the best of themselves one more time in the battle for the title of World Champion for five year olds. For a moment it looked like Dutchman Olivier van der Vaart would take the title but Gerard O'Neill proved to be faster. The Irishman was 40 hundredths faster and rode to victory with Bp Goodfellas (v. Stakkato Gold).

Olivier van der Vaart led Ristrotte vd Heffinck (v. Aldo du Plessis) around in a magnific jump-off but was just not fast enough. Together with the BWP-gelding he takes home the silver medal. The shared the stage with patriot Jarno van Erp. He took the bronze medaille on the back of Mindset Es (v. Aganix du Seigneur). It's the first time on a big stage for the 26 years old showrider.

Thibaut Huyvaert rode to a fifth place in the saddle of Davis 17 (v. Diarado). He had to let Christian Ahlmann go in front of him. The German homerider finished fourth with Ansingh de Lis Z (v. Aganix du Seigneur).
