Alsharbatly and Alamo victorious in CSI5* Grand Prix Doha

In Doha, the third week of an international tour ended today with the Grand Prix of the CSI5* competition. The competitors were presented with a tough basic course and this was reflected in the number of jump-off candidates: only four combinations were able to keep the clear in the basic course A four-rider jump-off was thus to be decisive. In that jump-off, it was the experienced Alamo (by Ukato) who jumped to victory under the saddle of Abdullah Alsharbatly. The 16-year-old KWPN rider jumped a clear round in 39.43 seconds, making him the only one to stop the clock under 40 seconds. The gelding was ridden by Sergio Alvarez Moya and Steve Guerdat in the past.

Santiago Lambre followed in second place. He counted on Chacco Blue II (by Chacco Blue) to jump a clear round in 40.09 seconds. The other top four placings came at the hands of two riders. Rikke Belinda Barker rode Tabalou PS (by Taloubet Z) to third place by jumping a clear round in 41.78 seconds. Amber Fuller, in the saddle of the BWP-bred Nopal van Tallaert, also did it clear in 44.52 seconds. This earned them fourth place.

The top five was completed by Emanuele Gaudiano. He got a jumping fault in the first round with Nikolaj de Music (by Kannan). However, their fast time still secured them a top five ranking.
