The 1.60m Grand Prix in Amsterdam had a total of eleven combinations at the start of the Jump-Off. In the end it was France's Julien Epaillard who was the undoubtable winner aboard his Dubai du Cedre (Baloubet du Rouet). The pair was over two seconds faster as local rider, Willem Greve and his Pretty Woman van 't Paradijs (Vigo d'Arsouilles). Lars Kersten completed the stage with Funky Fred Marienshof Z (Fantomas de Muze).
In the jump-off, Matthew Sampson was the first to start with the 16-year-old KWPN gelding, Daniel (Heartbreaker). The pair set the tone with one jumping fault in 38.91 seconds. Maikel van der Vleuten followed at the start.
In the saddle of the 13-year-old Dywis HH (Toulon), the Dutch rider jumped flawlessly through the finish. Van der Vleuten's faultless time was immediately surpassed by Sara Vingralkova and the 12-year-old How Easy (Talan).
The French speed demon, Julien Epaillard, went well below the time of the Czech rider. Together with his trusted Dubai du Cedre (Baloubet du Rouet), Epaillard stopped the clock at 34.16 seconds, taking the lead halfway through the jump-off. Lars Kersten then came close to Epaillard's time. In the saddle of Fuky Fred Marienshof Z (Fantomas de Muze), Kersten jumped faultlessly through the finish in 37.98 seconds.
Willem Greve followed at the start. In the saddle of his 9-year-old BWP mare, Pretty Woman van 't Paradijs (Vigo d'Arsouilles), Greve improved on Kersten's time with a finish in 36.57 seconds.
Tani Joosten scores in 1.60M GP Debut!
The most notable performance? Dutch rider Tani Joosten performed strongly in her 1.60m Grand Prix debut. Together with Galdal Me (Zambesi TN), she jumped with one jumping fault to secure the eleventh place.
