Interview with Chinese rider Tian Yu
China is a new booming equestrian country, and one show jumper is now jumping in to the spotlights. Female rider Tian Yu is the new star of China. Starting from a young age  Tian  Yu was passionate about horses. Although her parents were against the sport in the beginning she finally got her whish riding twice a week in an equestrian club.

When she was 12 years old, she owned her first horse -a mare. Tian said: “I felt I owned the world.”

"The hardest period in my life so far were the 4 years my horse got injured," states the rider. "But I never gave up, and now we're stronger than ever." In that period Tian bought her second horse; Wonderboy.

“He taught me a lot, together with Wonderboy, I jumped up from 1.20m to 1.50m level.” said Tian. When mentioning her third horse LucianoVivi gets a sparkle in her eyes.

“Luciano  affected me by competing the 1.50m level competition in FEI World Cup China League replaced injured Wonderboy. Although Luciano before just jumped  a height of 1.20m, I felt his confidence and power. - Yes it was a big step up, but we were ready for it.”

After placing second in the BMW Elite Class at 2015 Beijing CSI3* Longines Masters Grand Prix in Bird’s Nest Vivi was awarded as most "Elegant Rider." Together with Cairo (by Silverstar) she is now ready to explorer the international show jumping scene.

“I’m so lucky that I have such a wonderful team behind so that I can accomplish my dream step by step,” she concludes
