In La Baule, the highlight of the day was ridden just now: the Prix Saur. Tomorrow the Rolex Grand Prix is on the programme but today the CSI5* riders thus already entered a first big test. It was a class with jump-off and nine combinations managed to overcome the tough basic course without any jumping faults. Several world top riders such as Mclain Ward, Shane Sweetnam and Max Kühner were able to qualify for the jump-off place but in the end it was a young Dutchman who took the victory on his name Lars Kersten and his Funky Fred Marienshof Z (by Fantomas de Muze) drove all competition home by jumping a clear jump-off in 42.14 seconds.
Mclain Ward seemed to be on his way to sharpen Kersten's time but eventually fell just short with Callas (by Casall). The duo clocked off in 42.16 seconds. Shane Sweetnam and RR Combella (by Cornet du Lys) completed the podium. They jumped a spectacular jump-off and stopped the chrono after 42.69 seconds.
Max Kühner and EIC Quantum Robin V (by Carambole) took fourth place. They had to start at the very front in the jump-off and immediately set a great time of 45.48 seconds. This turned out to be enough for fourth place. Martin Fuchs took fifth place as the fastest four-pointer. He rode Bastille (by Balou du Rouet) to the finish in 40.94 seconds, the fastest time but a jumping fault relegated them to fifth place.
