Ashlee Bond: "It feels like the show season doesn't end anymore..."

USA's Ashlee Bond has kicked-off the new WEF season on a steady note, "We decided to take a break and just hit off slowly. I really feel like the show season doesn't end anymore..." Bond says.

"We jumped Major League competitions in the middle of December, so it's a short period between the CSI5* classes and the kick-off at the WEF season. It only seems fair you give your horses rest."

"There are so many FEI competitions, it gets dangerous to over use your horse. I do believe it is important to pace yourself. so you spare yourself and your horse to keep your horsepower. For me, I like to ease into it." Bond continues. "The new competitions and League shows just make the sport step up. Classes get bigger, prize money gets higher..."

Wellington is a new hot spot

"It's amazing, for us riders, that the WEF accommodation is getting more and more popular. It attracts new riders and that will test you as a rider. It makes it interesting. It raises the game and it makes you aware."
