Volunteers required for safety study

Volunteers required for safety study
Do you compete with British Eventing? Would you be interested in contributing to cutting edge safety research for your sport?

PhD student, Heather Cameron – Whytock of the University of Central Lancashire and Myerscough College, is looking for a limited number of eligible riders to take part in a study of physiological and psychological factors during eventing competition and their effect on performance.

The study is seeking riders over the age of 18 who are currently, and regularly, competing with BE to be observed and wear a heart rate monitor during both training and competition. This is a great opportunity to contribute to safety research within the sport, and potentially see some fascinating data from you and your horse that you wouldn’t otherwise get the chance to see. All applicants to the study will be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win a BE Membership and Horse Season Ticket.

All research is approved and overseen by the university ethics committee and British Eventing.
