Penelope Leprevost leaves world's No. 1 von Eckermann behind her in 5* World Cup of Basel

In Basel, Switzerland, they concluded with a main class and the public was treated to the CSI5* World Cup over 1.50m. The riders jumped a Table A against the clock with Penelope Leprevost able to set the shortest time. Before that, it was Victor Bettendorf who was able to be victorious in the 1.45m. 

The fastest time was delivered by Penelope Leprevost. The French rider on Texas (by Tornesch) jumped the final obstacle in 56.03 to take victory. Leprevost thus kept world number one Henrik von Eckermann behind her. The Swede had Iliana (by Cardento) under the saddle and finished in 56.40. The top three was complete with Romain Duguet and Bel Canto de Boguin (by Grenat de Grez) running the clock in 57.08. Kevin Jochems had saddled Gijs (by Kashmir van Schuttershof) to jump against the clock. The 12-year-old stallion crossed the finish line in 58.66, which eventually proved to be good for fourth place while Jack Whitaker got to close out the top five in the saddle of Spider (by Cardento).

Prior to that, the obstacles were at 1.45m and Victor Bettendorf got to take home the trophy. On  Astuce de La Roque (by Kannan), he too had the fastest time on the clock with 55.83. Thomas Ryan followed on silver with 56.80 in the saddle of  Karmel van de Watering (by Diamant de Semilly). Third place went to Olivier Perreau who crossed the finish line in 57.28 with Gl Events Dolce Deceuninck (by Toulon). 

The top five had fourth place for Yuri Mansur on Miss Blue Mystic Rose (by Chacco Blue) and Erica Swartz on five with Jovita (by Carabas vd Wateringhoeve).
