Hanley won by well over a second down to runners-up Marc Houtzager and Sterrehof’s Ushi (Vigo d’Arsouilles x Goethe) from Netherlands. Home rider Jan Wernke produced the third and final double clear to secure third place with Queen Mary (Contendro x Caretino).
The top five was completed by Holger Hetzel (Legioner, by Limbus) and Jorg Opperman with Che Guevara (by Concept). Only the top three concluded their jump-off faultless.
