Germany takes a strong position at the beginning of the show jumping Games

The first qualifier did already see 50 riders to the start. With only 25 left to go it proved to be a hard job to finish faultless in this qualifier. The double combination (second but last fence to jump) and the big water are the main reason of the faults made. Resulting in many jumping faults or even refusals and elemination.

So far only 14 combinations finished faultless. Revelation might be Belgium's individual rider Jérome Guery aboard Grand Cru vd Rozenberg. The horse still jumped a regional level about a year ago.

So Far Germany is in the lead of the Nations Cup with three out of the four riders finishing clear. Christian Ahlmann, Daniel Deusser and Meredith Michaels Beerbaum did a perfect job aboard their mounts.

For the host country it are Stephan De Freitas Barcha and Alvaro Affonso de Miranda Neto made it clear. Further Kent Farrington (USA), Edwina Tops-Alexander (AUS),  Amy Miller (CAN), Janika Sprunger (SUI), Philippe Rozier (FRA), Maikel van der Vleuten (NED), Ali Bin Khalid Al Thani (QAT) and Peder Fredricson (SWE) finished faultless.
