Ireland takes the dressage lead, Belgium and Norway on top in showjumping at WUEC
Today both the second round of dressage and the first round of show jumping was ridden at the World University Equestrian Games in Sweden. A total of 18 riders took the start in the dressage, only five continue to the semi-finals.

With Ireland in the lead after the first round and two riders proceeding to the semi-finals the country is almost sure about its dressage victory. Sweden's Moa Berrek and Hungary's Orsolya Balogh were no match for Ian Cassells aboard the 6-year-old De Nice (by De Niro). Cassells collected an astonishing score of 75.167%.

Aboard Bandido (by Hohenstaufen II) it was Germany who set the best score thanks to Daniela Grae (71.917%). With the same horse Ireland's Kelleyann Hutchinson qualified for the semi-finals as well.

SHOWJUMPING

From the 54 riders at the start only 14 placed for the second round. Riders are judged on style in this first round, set at maximum 1.00m height.

Belgium's Meghan Gillot and Femke D'hoore were both first selected on their horse as well as Norway's Hanna Margrethe Berg Olsen and Gro Sørgaard Gartland. At the moment this brings Belgium and Norway in the lead of the ranking.
