Ludo Philippaerts awarded in Mechelen

Before the 1.50m class started the Belgian Federation announced its new talented team in Mechelen. At the Christmas Horse Show it was Ludo Philippaerts who as crowned "sport personality of the year". Last year it was Nicole Dekuyper, and the year before Francis Michielsen. Tonight it was show jumping legend; Ludo Philippaerts who received the Award. It was Mr. Leo De Vos who handed out the price.   The show jumper received a portret titled "Lord of the ring", clever or wrong we leave that up to you. Earlier this year, in April, Ludo Philippaerts announced his retirement of the sport. After  career with 7 world cup victories and Silver European Medal inArnhem (2001), Ludo decided to put away his boots.
