Only four combinations qualified for the Jump-Off in the CSI4* 1.55m Grand Prix at the Sunshine Tour in Vejer de la Fronteira, Spain. Eventually it was France's Pénélope Leprévost who speeded to victory aboard her GFE Excalibur de la Tour Vidal (Ugano Sitte).
Together with the 12-year-old sBs-horse, Leprevost crossed the finish faultless in 35.92 seconds, leaving local show jumping rider, Armando Trapote as runner-up with over four seconds difference. Trapote followed aboard the 11-year-old Tornado VS (Toulon). The stage was completed by Filipe Amaral and his 11-year-old Androide 3K (VDL Zirocco Blue).
Only the top two riders managed to produce a double clear. In a fourth place Jens Baackmann placed with Nomanee (Non Stop) while Germany's Laura Klaphake and Quin 13 completed the top five. Just like the German pair, USA's Michael Hughes finished with one time penalty aboard Kashmir van d'Oude Pastory (Thunder vd Zuuthoeve), finishing sixth.
Laura Klaphake wins 1.50m Small GP
Earlier Laura Klaphake won the 1.50m Small Grand Prix with her Davenport VDL. On stage Andre Reichmann followed with the 11-year-old Quinetto Z (Quinar Z). While Canada's Tim Wilks completed the stage aboard Diamanthella VG Z (Diamant de Semilly).
