Belgium inserts bid to host 2027 European Championships! "They were impressed with our 120-page dossier in Lausanne," Stephan Detry says

At the annual Equigala Riders Ball in Brussels, the Belgian equestrian federation announced that it has launched a bid to host the 2027 European Championships.  "They were impressed with our 120-page dossier in Lausanne. Now it's just a few more months of waiting before we find out if our European Championship dream will become a reality!"

 

"I'm grateful the project is supported by the Flemish government in partnership with Golazo and the Belgian Equestrian Federation, " Detry adds. A little scoop was the reveal the championship would be hosted in Waregem.

This is the location where the Classic Eventingcompetition was hosted in the past, as well as some CDI competitions and the CSI5* Waregem Horse Week

The 2027 European Championships are a very important event on the calendar as they will serve as team qualifier for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. 

"By hosting the European Championships we'll create leverage, which will put our sport and the entire industry on the map worldwide," said KBRSF chair Stephan Detry.
