Holly Smith sees her Olympic top horse Denver (by Memphis) leave her stables. The gelding was bred by the Woertman family. Denver will now continue his career with the French rider Sadri Fegaier. He made his debut with Denver this weekend in the two star competition in Valence, France. Earlier this weekend the new pair already placed tenth in the 1.40m class.
The gelding started his career in the eventing sport with UK-based French rider Constance Lucie Copestake. Denver competed successfully at CCI4*-S level before joining the stables of British rider Holly Smith in 2019. The pair achieved top rankings at the highest level of showjumping. They won the CSIO3* Grand Prix in Vejer de la Frontera and the CSI3* in Vilamoura.
Their multiple successes led them to a spot in the team event for the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020. Denver and Smith ended their partnership with great rankings In Lyon, the two achieved a second place in the Longines Grand Prix, bronze in the Equita Masters and silver in the World Cup Grand Prix.
