Lambrecht beamed afterwards: “I was really stressed watching the other combinations, but it actually helped motivate me. My horse jumped brilliantly and really thought along with me, so I’m truly super happy with this performance. She’s a very small horse, but she has an incredibly big heart. She always gives 100% in the ring, a true dream horse.”

Zayed Ali finished second in the saddle of the BWP mare Quirani van de Maltahoeve (El Torreo de Muze). He also produced a clear round in the jump-off, crossing the line in 38.30 seconds, less than a second behind the winner.

Third place went to Korea’s Giju Lee with Cicero (Cordess). He, too, kept a clean sheet and finished in 39.38 seconds.

Just off the podium, Jules Denutte placed fourth with Hector (Flamenco Desemilly). They were also faultless in the deciding round and clocked 40.98 seconds after a superb performance.

Belgium completed the top five thanks to Louise Brusselle with her BWP mare Oui Oui van ’t Steentje (Kannan). They once again delivered a double clear, finishing in 42.00 seconds.
