Sixteen of the over eighty riders went clear in this speed class, and it was extremely close on top with Maher and Contigo 37 (Calato x Quidam de Revel) stopping the clock on 61.62 seconds while Marco Kutscher and Balermo (Baloubet du Rouet x Silvio I) crossed the finish line on 61.68. "I’m here for the first time and I’m amazed. It’s astonishing how the horses, riders and all the spectators are treated!" said Ben Maher in the winner’s interview.
