No Sanction for Pénélope Leprevost after Gothenburg

The FEI has decided that no further action will be taken towards Pénélope Leprevost. She got a lot of critique on the way she reacted in the warm-up area during Longines FEI World Cup Finals in March. The incident caused a storm in equestrian media outlets and even more so in social media. The FEI stated then: "The FEI is looking into the full circumstances of the incident in which the French horse Vagabond de la Pomme stumbled very badly prior to the first round of Monday’s competition and the rider, Penelope Leprevost, reacted very roughly". Leprevost later apologized , saying that she was deeply sad that she over-reacted. The FEI investigated the incident and today they announced their conclusion: “The FEI has investigated the full circumstances of the incident with Penelope Leprevost and her horse Vagabond de la Pomme in the warm-up arena at Gothenburg. Reports have been received from the Chief Steward, who had been briefed about the incident by the Steward on duty at the time. The rider has also been spoken to". Pénélope Leprevost publicly apologized. She said she regrets her actions and showed remorse for over-reacting. She said something like this will never happend again and that the health and welfare of her horses is very important. After they incident, Vagabond de la Pomme was completely checked in the stables by the vet of the French team, Jérôme Thévenot. He stated that the horse was ready to comete. Penelope Leprevost has stated publicly that she regrets her actions and expressed her remorse for over-reacting in the heat of the moment. She has said that this sort of incident will not happen again and that the welfare of her horses is extremely important to her. "The FEI is assured that such an incident will not occur again and, in light of this, no further action will be taken.”
