Mondial du Lion : Michael Jung is unstoppable !

Nursing a broken foot, German Eventer Michael Jung took the lead today in the seven year old category after the cross country course at Mondial du Lion d'Angers in France. The competition serves as a championship for young horses. Jung has already taken the lead with Fischerincantas in the six year old section and is looking to take home two gold medals. Riding Lennox 364, a seven year old gelding by Sunlight XX, Jung navigated the tricky cross country course in a time of 9'41" and finished with 38.0 penalties, his Dressage score. The track was testing for the young horses and proved difficult for some, with many falls and eliminations on track. Australian rider Emma Dougall is currently in second place with Fernhill Tabasco after finishing with 44.3 penalties. Her fellow countryman Christopher Burton is sitting in third place with Cooley Lands with 44.7 penalties. Tomorrow the young horses will have to endure yet another day of tough sport with the championship culminating with the Show Jumping rounds. FULL RESULTS Photo ©Equnews.fr
