There was simply no matching Julien Epaillard. The Frenchman guided the twelve-year-old chestnut gelding Easy Up de Grandry through the course with surgical precision and astonishing pace. Easy Up de Grandry, bred by Ind. Easy Up de Grandry, crossed the finish line clear in an unbeatable time of 69.71 seconds.

The competition made valiant efforts to match that time but fell well short. Daniel Bluman came closest with Malina. This eight-year-old daughter of Aganix du Seigneur (out of Galina II x Mylord Carthago HN) was bred by Gebr. Bosch & Maatschap Team Nijhof and sprinted clear into second place in 74.95 seconds. The podium was completed by German rider Sophie Hinners. She saddled the just nine-year-old Iron Dames Kaleni Jo (Kannan x Leni-Jo by Indoctro, bred by Stal Verhoeven).

Just behind the podium, home favorite Hans-Dieter Dreher settled into fourth place. He relied on Harley de la Cense (Andiamo Semilly).

The top five was beautifully rounded off by Belgian top rider Gilles Thomas. He brought the promising BWP stallion Riesling van 't Roosakker (Comme Il Faut) to the start.
